A gripe about communal living.

Allright, when I moved in here at Queen's, there was a sign on the door of my halls saying that we'd be fined 150 quid for having messy kitchens/dirty dishes. OK, fair enough. Everyone, andI mean EVERYONE goes home for the weekend here. So who got stuck washing EVERYONE'S dishes over the past weekend? Me. Ok, no big deal. Then last night, the warden (who we wouldn't be able to pick out of a lineup!) left a message on our fridge that said "your kitchen is messy and there are ditry dishes. You will be fined." WTF? 150 quid!? And then my housemate says to me, "oh don't worry it will be divided up amongst the 6 of us." WHAT?! Thats 25 quid, which is 50 USD, which I (quite literally) DONT HAVE TO SPARE! Especially because I'm not the one leaving the #@$#$@ dishes in the sink! Especially when I get screwed having to clean up every flipping weekend!!!! So basically I'm going to tell the warden where he can stick his fine. I am NOT paying it. PERIOD. Especially because we have no senior resident (RA) to tell us a) what the rules are b) enforce the rules c) how we can lodge complaints.

And also, our cleaner SUCKS. First of all, he has TERRIBLE B.O. I can't even walk in the hallway after him because he smells so bad. He doesn't clean. Our kitchen floor hasn't been mopped in the 2 weeks I've been here, and neither has the bathroom floor! The hallway is not vaccuumed. The toilet is not clean. There's no toilet paper, and the shower hasn't been cleaned either. What the hell am I paying for? And then he left the garbage outside, and then when he moved it, a piece of dead fish fell on the ground right outside my window, and is still laying out there!! My entire room smells of rotten fish.
