Age Group Rank = 354/499
Pre-race routine:

Got up very early, grabbed a bite to eat and caught the bus to Devonport for the start of the race.
Event warmup:

Gentle warm-up run along the waterfront and some stretches, left it a little late back from the bathroom and had to join the back of the starting line taking 5 mins to go across the start line.

Comments:

Nice run, got into a good pace, a little caught up with some walkers near the start. Nutrition went well, a gu before the start and one every drinks stations (5km intervals). Felt really good going through halfway on time but a little tired heading off the bridge, managed to get an extra wind around the bottom of the Yacht Basin.
What would you do differently?:

Had a fairly heavy Tri-Squad session on the Saturday so felt a little stiff and sore this morning, but was part of the overall training plan so without that should have easily come in under 2hrs.
Post race
Warm down:

Some stretching, a lot of walking around to find the Les Mills bbq tent which was hidden behind some inflatable signs, had some breakfast and a massage before heading home for a wee snooze.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The Tri-Squad training the day before didn't help and getting stuck near the back also slowed things down but probably allowed me to pace better at the beginning. For my first Half-Marathon pretty happy with the results.

Great effort!

Going over the Bridge must be great! I remember (a long time ago) when the race used to be along the waterfront going way past St Heliers' and was dead flat and very fast. Some of the world's best times were set on that old course!

I've got this race on the future plan!

The full Marathon still goes out to St heliers and back from Town, the old course is kept as a continguency incase the condition on the bridge won't allow runners across. It was good going over the bridge, the only day of the year you can do so not in a car.
