Ocean Community YMCA tri

This is going to be my first tri ever.  i didn't decide to do a tri until about 2 months ago, so I guess this is going to start and end my season with this one tri. 

I am planning on doing this race also. It will be my first sprint, have only done olympic's and 1/2 iron so far. This is my first year of tri - ing. I am doing the Lobsterman in Freeport, Me this weekend - olympic dist.  OCYTri should be a fun all out push for the short distance and make for some good training and fun.

Are you guys wearing wetsuits?  I'm not planning on it but after wakeing up to a chilly morning today, I might change my mind. 

Not that I am racing anymore but I was planning on wearing mine.  I was told that the water can be choppy and every advantage in swimming helps!  My 0.02

I'm in. I was fence sitting and after watching our daughter in the kids race this weekend, I'm jonesin' to race.

It'll be cold in the morning. Overnight lows in the mid 50's. Yikes!

I did this one last year. I think any first-timers will come away with a good impression. It's a great course for that. No way to get lost (2 laps on the bike; all right turns. Out and back run), easy to be competitive on. The only problem for me was during the swim. You swim directly east into the rising sun. It's blinding! Be sure of your goggle choice.
