Subject: Snake in the poolTuesday I went for a short swim during lunch. The pool pump broke, so the pool was closed down for a little under 2 weeks. I was glad to get back in. As I was leaving, I saw a few guys running towards the opposite end of the pool. Pool is 50m, so I was not going to walk down there to look. I walked out, took a quick shower to rinse off, then went back to work... I went to the gym yesterday, and one of the guys that was swimming in the pool at the same time as I stopped me and asked me if i saw "it" in the pool the day before. he's a Sergeant Major in the Army (i work at an Army Base), so I thought "this is probably going to be a male anatomy joke" or something... turns out, a water moccasin had come in through a door that is always left open and fell in the pool!!! it was a small one, from what the lifeguard told me later. d00d, i'm going for a swim today and am feeling kind of ansy...i'm not afraid of snakes on land, b/c i am way bigger and can step on their head...but in the WATER? they're fast, slithery, and downright scary looking...i keep picturing swimming and looking around and seeing a snake slithering towards me... just wanted to share that with you guys on this rather slow morning... BTW, remember and honor the victims and heroes of this day. happy training.
