What is the difference between regular shades and cycling glasses?  I have a pair of Costa Del Mar's with amber lenses that have great contrast and reduce glare, but they fog terribly when I run or bike.  Do biking glasses prevent this?

If they are "vented" at the top of the frame, then they should not fog...or at the very least, fogging should be minimized.  Mine are vented, but still do fog slightly but only if I'm stopped.  Once I get moving, they clear up almost instantly.

I use RainX on my glasses. They are not vented and still don't fog.

Impact resistant. Any decent quality glasses should be fine. However cheapies and probably most designer are not made to withstand impacts that can occur while riding. Bugs, rocks, hail, whatever

Definitely avoid cheapie glasses for cycling, especially if you ride hard and sweat a lot.

I've accidentally destroyed 2 pairs of those when I pulled them off my head on a stiff climb to shake off the sweat. On my nicer pairs, the arms are more flexible, and even break off safely when over-torqued. As a runner, I've cracked 2 pairs of cool-looking cheapies with minimal pressure, whereas my Native glasses are perfect even in my pocket.

I go to Sam's Club and get 12 pair of safety glasses with UV protection, wrap around style, for $24. I figure if I run over them or leave them on the side of the road I'm out $2.00

I save the Ray Bans, Native, Revo, for other than running/biking.

Good ideas.  My good shades are made primarily for marine use, but are great quality from a vision standpoint.  They are $150 a pair though, so I'd hate to chip a lens from road debris.  I'll definitely invest in another pair....and rain-x
