In three hours I get my new bike. I swear I am as excited as... OK well 12 years ago today I set up a date the 6th of August with my now husband. I was about as equally excited then.

Tell me I am not the only moron on the planet to get this excited about a bicycle!

Back in April I took the whole day off to pick up, get fitted on, and ride my new Dolce Vita.

ROFL. Swim goddess. *snort* Har! *snort*
I swim so slow. But I'm tryin' to learn how to live up to that. One day I'll swim as fast as akabak. One day.

Well, let's see. You've got another hour and 1/2 to go, right?
Get it fitted correctly, and take your time getting used to the aerobars. The bike rides so much faster than I am capable of pedaling, she's great inspiration. I honestly do not have a single bad thing to say about the bike. The saddle is awesome. It fits me really well. My only complaint is so petty - I hate the colour. It's just not me. I have a friend who does auto detailing who'll paint it for me, but I'm too terrified to mess the bike up.

When I first got the bike, I had nothing good to say about it. It's not the bike. I wasn't used to riding a road bike. It took a little while for my hands to stop hurting. It took awhile for the new places the saddle hit me to get used to it. Etc. Now that I'm used to it, it is a super sweet and comfortable bike.

My LBS buddy always puts way more miles on it when he's "testing" it out after a tune up than he needs to. His girlfriend has one. I figure, if the bike shop's manager advised his girlfriend to get one of these and she hangs with them for group rides, it's more than good enough for me.

So show us pictures of your new baby when it arrives. And congrats on the day finally arriving!

Are you going to have the phone boy/guy size it for you?  The one that tried to sell you more stuff.  Or will it be Mike?
