Subject: Garmin plug-in problem

I just installed the most recent plug-in on my new Mac so I can upload workouts on my Garmin from my Garmin 405 and I keep getting a message that tells me "No device found". I have checked the test page and it says that I have the most recent plug-in and it is properly installed but I am still unable to upload. There is also a message that says "plug-in unlocked", whatever that means. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? Thanks.

Did you ever figure this out? I was thinking about getting a 405 and I see here it is not supported but didn't know if this article was outdated.

Actually, it was working with my PC. As long as I had the most recent plug-in I was fine. I am not a tech person by any stretch of the imagination so I really don't know how to solve this other than taking the measures I already have.

I have a Mac and a FR 305.  If I get the No Device Found it's because I have a virtual machine running and the VM grabbed it.  Well, that or the 305 did not have good contact with the docking station.

Virtual machine? I'm sorry but I don't know what that means. I am not a techie for sure! Could you define?

The short answer is that if you don't know what a virtual machine is, you don't have one Smile

The long answer is that you can get a program (VMWare or Parallels) that will let you run Windows on your Mac while your Mac is running.  That way if there is that one certain program that doesn't have a decent Mac version, you can run it but do everything else in the Mac.  In this case you have a Windows "virtual machine" on your Mac.
