Subject: Semper Fidelis for 230 years
On 10 Nov 1775 a few good men met in Tun Tavern in Phil., Pa. They formed an enduring organization that continues to serve our nation to this day "in every clime and place". Thursday will mark the 230th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.
Take a moment Thursday and hoist your glass and give a "Semper Fi" or maybe an "OOORRAAAHH" in honor of The Few, The Proud, The Marines!!
Old Corps, new Corps, it's still the Marine Corps.

Even though I am an Army vet.....my Dad was in the Corps for 5 years and I was born at Camp Pendleton......see if you recognize these guys ( hint one is my dad)

I didn't know that he wasn't a "real" gunny....my dad said that he got out as an E-6 and was make an "honorary" gunny after Full Metal Jacket. Incidentally that was (numerically) the platoon before my dad's in '69

My dad was in Air Force & Reserves, some of my classmates are in Marines - stationed in Hawaii for the past 4 years...
