i cant say that i think teaching that in an **ethnicity** class is bad. i remember when i was taking US history, i had a teacher who had an effective way to show us McCarthyism. She was on the phone when class started, and she was very stern, sat on her stool and said "i just got off the phone with the superintendant (sp?) because i know that 5 of you helped kids in another one of my classes cheat on a test. i have a piece of paper up here, if you write down the names of the other 4 you will be able to finish the class." long pause "XXX do you want to come up here? what about XXX?" VERY EFFECTIVE. of course we did have the neice of a congressman, when the teacher said her name, we got up and started walking out of class, she said "im calling my lawyer"
