funeral attire?

Expert  893    Livermore, Ca |  Subject: funeral attire?My great aunt died last night  . I'm not sure what to wear to the funeral. I only have a brown suit, is that acceptable attire? I have black dress pants, could I buy a black sports coat to go along with it, would that be acceptable / better than brown? |

Black dress pants with a dress shirt I think would be fine too (I don't think you have to have a sports coat). It seems that there is less emphasis on the all black at a funeral now. I'm sure your aunt would appreciate your precense most of all. |

Extreme Veteran 604 Northwest Ohio | Subject: RE: funeral attire? I agree. You don't have to wear black to a funeral anymore. I think "conservative and tasteful" would be a nice guideline. Dark colors like navy blue, brown, black, etc. would all work. |

I lost a great Aunt 4 years ago (she was 100 years old) and I'll always miss her. Dress nicely and don't worry about it. |
