Pro  4313   McKinney, TX |  Subject: Red Beacon AppAnyone ever heard of this? It's an iPhone app (not sure about other platforms).... You take a picture, video, or voice memo of a home improvement project....anything from intstalling a ceiling fan, building an arbor, plumbing issue, etc. and submit it. The company then send it out to local contractors and they bid on it and send you the bids. My BIL has a porch light that is 2.5 stories up. While changing the light wasn't the issue (black to black, white to white, ground) he didn't have the ladder tall enough to change it out. He took a pic, submitted it and within 30 minutes had 8 bids (ranging from $35 to $100 from various local contactors). He selected the one he wanted and within a day, they came and changed it out). You pay the bid (nothing more) and the contractors are verified by Red Beacon. |

However, the app sounds pretty neat - I wonder if it works with bigger projects too - we need the bathroom redone! |

However, the app sounds pretty neat - I wonder if it works with bigger projects too - we need the bathroom redone! I actually clicked on my own thread because I thought it said bacon..... I'm sure that it would work for something that big. they have a "contractor" and "handyman" services that you can submit your bids too. They also have maid services....just in case you can't get off the toilet and need someone to clean the house up while you're stuck in there.  |
