Subject: Rear wheel aero jackets
I currently own a 2011 trek speed concept 2.5 and am looking to make a few small upgrades. The major upgrade is to install an aero jacket on my rear wheel. I have stock bontrager ssr wheels with 24 spokes on the rear. I am wondering if anyone knows if I can order one from wheel builder? There site says it isn't compatible...and I also notice the clear plastic piece on the cassette. This thing doesnt allow the necessary 5mm but if removed should be enough.Any and all info is welcome,Thanks

The plastic frisbee is unnecessary, you can and should remove it.

As far as the wheelcover goes, it may or may not work with your wheels. I ride a specialized transition which is incompatible according to the wheelbuilder website, but works just fine modified with a couple pieces of duct tape.

Try using the search function here, and google there might be people around who have found solutions with your wheelset and/or bike.

I have a SC 7.0.  Use electrical tape on the non-drive side cover and tape the cover tightly to the the spokes.  I use two pieces of tape for each spoke.  No rubbing on the non-drive side when I do this.  The drive side did get a little bit of rubbing when in the largest cog of the cassette, but nothing too major.  Finally, I taped all around the edge of the cover to the wheel with electrical tape.

I have no rubbing issue with my SC.  I tape the drive side so I don't have the cover rub against the chain when in the biggest cog, although this is not really an issue when I'm not riding a hilly course.  Running a 32 hole DT Swiss 465 rim w/powertap.

I already owned the rim and cover when I got the SC, and had zero issues from day 1.

This is good to know about. I've been researching for a new bike and saw the site says it is incompatible. But this changes my thoughts on purchase.
