Pro  3906     Libertyville, IL |  Subject: Careful out there, fellow Ball Innuedoers!!With the inevitable defeat of the Gear Goddesses at hand, it seems they will pull out no stops (well, aside from actually doing the miles) to win, or at least slow us down. At mile 39 in this AM's ride, I flatted, though I did see a female clad in lycra scurry from the bushes with a sniper rifle. Apparently they shoot better than they ride. Time to bring it home big fellas (if you aint already there. If you are, nice job!!) |

Remember that the winner is based upon the percentage of teammates reaching their goal and the individual percentage of goal met. Making your goal is a double whammy ... if for some reason you are unable to make your goal, then each mile and minute spent in the saddle increases the whammy factor of the percentage of goal met. But the shard of metal in the tire has been found, so hopefully thatss the end of it. Sneaky Goddesses! It's a karmic "getcha back" for the THREE flats I had in week 2 (one which cost me a race). And that's not a sniper rifle. It's an Invisible Projectile Shooter... same as the one used on me. The only trace is leaves on the tube is a pinprick hole in a random location, so you can't determine what's actually causing the flat. |

If it is any consolation, a third flat this AM as I hit a large chunk of the road where there was no road. Kinda tough to see sometimes at 4:30 AM. I did finish the 42 miles and hit my goal though! |
