My dad: Sometimes I'm too much like my dad, to truly appreciate him. He was given 5-7 years in 2001, with a rare type of cancer. He is still kickin' it and doing ok almost 12 years later. I am sure glad that he will be able to meet my daughter!

My husband aka briderdt: Seeing you with you daughter convinced me that I wanted to be a parent with you, to our own child. I hope I don't regret it...she'll be here soon!!  Tongue out

To all the other BT dad's: Enjoy your day and I hope you get to do what you'd like...whether that'd be watching sports, getting in a workout or just relaxing!!

Thank you and Happy Father's Day to all the other kickazz dads here on BT. Already took my father out for breakfast, got a 6 mile run in and took the kids to a park for an hour of play time. Now relaxation time.

Thanks! My 21 year old daughter made me bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast for breakfast. Then later she went on a run with me. She felt bad she couldn't keep up, but I was thrilled she ran with me. Looks like we made it through the tough years and she turned out alright. Wasn't always easy, actually it was hardly ever easy with her :-).

It was a good one. I don't see my dad enough even though he lives 45 minutes away. Took him, the kids, and my ex to brunch. We were there for over 2 hours, and the staff at the restaurant were really great about not pushing us out. Then it was over, oldest son had to get to work, youngest had to study, and I got the bill. So weird having a dad who is 74 and kids 20 and 17. When the hell did that happen??

Went home and took a nap. Then made a big caesar's salad and walked over to my friends for a tri club board meeting. Spent two hours eating pizza, drinking beer, and deciding what to BBQ next weekend after the Philly Triathlon.

So basically the day consisted of talking, eating and napping.

It was a good father's day, because I was able to see both of my daughters with their husband or boyfriend.  I also got to hear about some of the good things they have been doing for others and thinking of themselves first and the feeling of knowing the you raised two very great daughters, makes for a great father's day.

And two weeks earlier one of the young ladies that I coached in the school's off seasons in basketball and softball got married and during the couples dance she gave me a nice hug and said thank you for everything Dad II.  She was also at my house a lot growing up because of school events and things.
