Something to think about.........your race is in miles. No matter what.......you're going to have to build your fitness to cover 70.3 miles in whatever the time of your goal.....or, the cutoffs (as a last resort).
My question to you is.......why would you NOT do your planned workouts by distance? If the reason is......."it will take longer".......so what? Just don't assign or acknowledge arbitrary paces.
There'll be a time when you only want to run or ride a certain time interval. Even then, that should be based on your particular pacing.
Point well taken. I can spend a long time constructing training plans and reworking them. Trying to not think to much, just follow the training plan, trusting the plan will get me to the goal without injury (I'll be 58 in two days ).
Just wanting to understand the best way to get the most from the plan.
I've wasted a few years going out too hard and having to take weeks off and never getting my mojo back. |
