Welcome to the challenge Gorlocks!

From Webster University....

Gorlock:It is reported to have the paws of a speeding cheetah, the horns of a fierce buffalo and the face of a dependable Saint Bernard. The myth of the Gorlok "embodies the highest standards of speed, agility and stamina in an atmosphere of fairness and good conduct."

Hey everyone - welcome to Sept challenge.

My name is Stacie and I am trying to get the mojo back and stronger after completing the August Challenge. I have signed up for
12 run sessions
10 bike sessions
and 10 strength sessions.

I am traveling to AK to work from 9/19 through 10/2 so hoping this will also keep me accountable.

Hey there. Robin here. I am hoping to get back on the ball after a bad September. Sick and family stuff has gotten in the way of my workouts.
So, we are Gorlocks. eh?, sounds like a scary thing under the mattress! I think it may be better than a Bilikin which is what I was last year!

Yeah a little meaning.. I have huge dimples - got them from my mom - can't hide them so during college I took the nickname dimples. When I met my husband he added the poo part so dimplespoo it is. It has been with me now for almost 9 years.

Hey team! I'm Emily. I'm still getting my feet under me literally and figuratively, so I'm hoping this challenge will give me a little push to keep going.

Run 12x
Bike 140mi
Swim 8x

Already got in a run and 4-5 miles on the bike today. The biking shouldn't be too much of a problem since I'm headed back to school shortly where my bike is my car and I'll finally have access to my beloved pool and favorite bike trail. Running is totally my weakest sport. I'm kind of working on the couch-to-5k plan after denying that I needed to start that slow for quite awhile. So far it's working: did three sets of run 6 min, walk 4 today and actually felt good instead of wanting to die.

So I know I'm new at this, what about the rest 'a y'all?

.....

Good job on the start today Emily! I still consider myself fairly new -- I joined BT in December and trained pretty good until my first Tri this past March. I joined one of the mentor groups on here and I would recommend that to anyone! I had an awesome mentor in TXMPGal. I slacked off a bit during the late spring/summer and just played baseball and did family stuff. I fractured my ankle playing baseball in July and just now getting to where I can jog on it fairly comfortably.

I have a sprint tri coming up on Labor Day -- I'm not really ready, but committed to do it because my 12 yr old daughter is doing the youth tri as well I did a mini tri tonight -- out of order with a break before the bike, but I did the distances. Swam for 20 mins (700 yds - I'm slow); Ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill. Did these while my wife was in yoga class. Then I went for a 14 mile bike ride with a friend who is trying to get back in shape -- as am I. It was a SLOW ride on mountain bikes with big knobby tires!

We're Gorlocks? That sounds unbearable..... Ha Ha Ha---snort... Ok I thought it was funny.

My name is Geoff Wieczynski. I live in Lafayette California. This is my big push on volume for my my A race on October 10th. I am on the road today, but will throw out targets later this week. I am in the process of adapting to the new bike--which has been difficult so far. This month I have two very long race rehearsal preps. Also, I have a fun swim race this month.

I am married with five kids. In addition, this will be the busiest month of work this year. Timing is not good, but it is what it is!

Let's go get'em!

Geoff

Ok--I'm back from my business trip. I cranked out 17 miles running this morning. I was hoping to get 18 in, but my pace was slower than last weeks long run. Hope everyone is doing well.

Okay team... I know this is a triathlete forum, but it's college football time! I have 7 people coming down to stay with me tonight and tomorrow and we are going to the OU football game tomorrow. I'll try not to party too hard right before my sprint tri on Monday!

Trying to figure out how I'm going to get up in the morning for my bike ride after helping my brother and a cousin celebrate their 40th b-day tonight.

GO TEAM GORLOCKS!
