I haven't been swimming since July.  I'm hoping this challenge will force me back into the pool with some consistency.  The GREEN team will keep me honest.  It looks like most of you fellow GREEN monsters have lots of swimming experience and I look forward to reading your logs for inspiration.

Swimming is good.....swimming is fun....

I am slow when it comes to swimming, but it's really something I like.  I made vast improvements last year after taking some swimming lessons at the Y.  Since I'm a member it was prtetty cheap and was really worth it.  You can do it!

Now if only I could run.....

Oddly enough - I've stayed away from tris because I can't swim well, but I'm coming around.... Swimming is good... Swimming is fun...

I'm taking lessons at the Y this month - I want to be one of you swell swimmers & I'll watch your numbers with envy.

Go GREEN!

A year ago, I thought I was going to die after only 25 yards freestyle.  I could swim backstroke without too much trouble, but freestyle kicked my @ss.

Now, I'm still slow, but I can swimfor a long time, and I no longer spent time grasping onto the side of the pool and thinking "Now I have to swim BACK?"

I took lessons at the Y and it made a huge difference.  the other thing that helped me a lot was wearing fins for a couple of weeks.  it feltlike cheating, but when I took them off my body position was so much better it was nearly unbelievable.

I'm here.  I'll be walking again probably tomorrow, and then rewarding myself with a swim!  I bought bike shoes for the first time today, so it was a bike day.

I'm really loving the running right now.  I guess I will have to force myself into the pool this weekend.  Hope to do a trail run in the morning.  But sleeping in would be nice too.

Good Morning Green Team.  Attached is this weeks spreadsheet.  Looks like some of us have some work to do!  Please review the spreadsheet and post some inspirations on teammates training logs who you feel need some Inspiring!

Let me know if any corrections are required.

Regards,

Steve

Good week, Green Team!

Next time, let's see some more YES's (they're green, don't you know!) Let's stay away from those red NO's!

GO GREEN!

I will *not* fail.

Argh!  Only 6 minutes short on my swim goal for the week!!  (I should have checked my log before my last swim.)

Hope everyone has a great week!  I should be right back on track this week.

Not sure if everyone saw this on the main thread for this challenge but in case not here it is again:

Where I'd like to see the most improvement on is the number of us who are on pace in both the run and swim.  The other stats can be misleading as percent completed can be swayed by someone jumping way ahead of pace.

Good luck everyone - make this a good week!

Got a few laps in the pool last night.  I want to have a green yes on next weeks progress chart.  I have some catching up to do on the swimming but should be right on track for the running.  Thanks for keeping an eye on us....

So far so good! I got a swim in at lunch and am leaving work a bit early today (don't tell my boss) to get in a 80 minute run with hills.

Don't worry about the Red "Nos" for me in week one. My planned swim volume increases every week this month and my planned run volume goes up significantly for a few weeks too. I'm on target for the challenge!

And one thing: no matter what, we can't let the Red team beat us. That rstocks3 character is a baaaaad man. Very bad. He must be brought down.

I'm a little above target for the run and will be making a boom of a progress in my swim tomorrow since i plan to swim 60 minutes. I need more gossip info on the evil bad bad man that we must bring down just to fufill my tabloid addiction motivate me. Did he make a special bet with you marma or do we have to do something to our avatars if we lose to him? Info please!

Turns out my swim estimate was probably very low, I'll definately be on track for the end of this week, when it comes to runs it's a toss up for this week, my plan is only 20 minutes more than I pledged...
