Senator Edwards made the comment that Reagan “created a tax structure that favored the very wealthiest Americans and caused the middle class and working people to struggle every single day.”

WRONG ANSWER senator....talk about exaggerating for effect and distorting the truth....the truth is he will be remembered, you won't.

I was doing fine with all the campaigning nonsense, but this set me over the edge. Leave Reagan out of it.

Let the flaming begin....

I think Edwards should save the Raegan bashing for the actual presidential campaign, not that he'll be around for it.  But suffice it to say, Raegan really was the last genuine/authentic Republican president, imnsho... and many republicans would love to see the next iteration.  He has become, and will be, a major part of campaign-speak.

I can't really speak to the Reagan years as I was only a teenager at the time and not really interested in national politics.  But I can say that the 1980s were a very tough time for my family economically.  When looking back now, I can see a clear downward spiral starting around 1982-3, and they we didn't really recover until 1989 or so.

 

Not to say that Mr Reagan was personally responsible, but he didn't win any real love in our house.
