Aw crap! Didn't know this was on. I was planning on doing a run up the grind on my own Sun. morning. Guess I'll have to re-think my plans.

Are you thinking about entering? That would be cool, especially since you've never done the Grouse Grind before.

If I was aware of this sooner I probably would have. The origial plan was to do it with my Son & Daughter.

May still head out there are the race though.

Well we did it. We got there around 10am thinking we'd just catch the tail end of the race. Not quite. Actually I think 1/4 of the runners were still coming up Nancy Green when we parked.

Checked our pack sack, asked about getting official timing and decided not at $21 ea.

I was surprised by how busy the trail was. Very few gaps between hikers. In fact several times you would come to ca complete stop waiting for someone to let you by or for the group to start moving.

Finished in 43:40 followed by my Son in 1:09 (who does no exercise at all and just quit smoking 2 weeks ago

When I finished I went back down cause I new my daughter would appreciate the company. Met her about 2/3's up and she was glad to see me. She finished in just under 1:30

Was a great time as I love these kind of activities with my kids.

That is a great time! Its funny how eveyone in the lower mainland goes to the Grind on a nice weekend, amazing time considering how busy it sounded! Hope you enjoyed the little vacation, next time give me a ring and we can chill out with some DUDE Beers!

great time !!! , they wanted $21 to time you? Do you get a plaque or finishers medal with that? lol I really want to get over there especially now that I saw on the news they put in zip lines. I think that would be fun to hike up , then go zipping. It'll have to wait till after my next tri just in case I fry my knee as it's not too fond of hills/stairs
