Anyone know of anything early mornings? Or on Fridays or Saturdays? I need to get some ocean swims in and hate going out by myself.

Can you swim at a guarded beach? I had the same issue, it scares me to swim alone period in OW.  On vaca at marthas vineyard this week I swam at a guarded beach and told the LGs what I was doing and swam only in the buoyed area.  I see you are in the new london area, not ideal, but Misquamiquit (sp) or Rocky Neck should have guards.

Mystic YMCA is doing a weekly Splash and Dash on Tuesday evening at 6:00.  It's the 1/2 mile swim and 3 mile run from the tri there.  Super informal but fun none the less.  I went last week and will be there tomorrow.  The day care is open if you need it (I drop my 3 off).

I am working on my first tri and this seems like a good program to try.  Can anyone come who is not a member?  How about the kids, can I pay a fee or something?  I also have 3 kids, and finding a place to drop the kids while swimming is tough.

Yup, it's open to everyone.  It is $20 for non members ($10 for members) for the series (until Aug 19).  I am not sure how much childcare would cost but they do offer a fee for each child for nonmembers as well.  I will look into it for you or you can call at 536-3575.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back.  It is $6.00/hr for child care at the Mystic YMCA for non members.  We do have two more races so if you can, come join us Tuesday at 6:00!
