I played it in college (early 90's), inter-mural league. Great fun. Never really caught on in the US though. Too close to Bball, but not Bball and too close to soccer for Americans not to like it I guess.

A few days ago, I was curious about what this sport was, and when I looked it up on nbcolympics.com, I was surprised to see that it was a team sport with a ball that looked like a soccer ball. Before seeing the pictures, I had something else completely different in mind. What is the sport that is played on raquetball courts where you use a gloved hand instead of a raquet? I thought that was handball. * scratching head *

I thought the same thing. We played what I thought was handball in high school gym class. I guess my gym teacher has something to learn, since it wasn't handball at all!
