Veteran  138   Lakeland, Florida |  Subject: TRYING AGAINHi Guys. After a dismal colapse in a half-ironman 10 years ago I have decided to try to redeem myself and begin training again. I have been using the log but wasn't going to come near the forum until I finally got in the pool. Well, I have. It wasn't pretty, but I got wet. I'm knocking out some 40's on the bike, and 8's on foot...but 200 yards was all I could muster in the water. But I have until Oct. to get ready so I should be alright. Hope to stay in contact.....sooo good training days everyone. |

If I may ask (as I'm doing my first 1/2 IM this year), have you thought about what went wrong during your 'collapse'?? I'd be curious, as I'm trying to avoid mistakes and train efficiently. Are you jumping back in at the 1/2 IM distance, or another?? Happy training, and I'm sure you'll do great. Much helpful advice and super encouragement to be found here! Dana |

THREW UP ALL MY GREAT CARBO LOADING DURING THE SWIM, AND THEN COULD NOT GET ENOUGH FUEL IN ME ON THE BIKE TO FINISH THE RUN. ALSO, IN RETROSPECT I HAD NOT LOGGED THE BIKE MILES I REALLY NEEDED TO PULL OFF THE HALF. I AM GOING TO DO TWO OLYMPIC DISTANCES PRIOR TO THE BIG RACE IN OCTOBER. HEY, CAN ANYBODY TELL ME HOW TO GET THE COOL LITTLE NAME TO GO WITH THE POSTS? DO YA PUT IT IN THE BLANK THE SAYS "REAL NAME" ?? |
