Apparently the first early batch had some pretty major issues. Trisports is still quoting the 17th, others say mid-to late July. Nobody's said August.... yet.

I have had mine for almost 2 months and have absolutely no issues with it at all, a number of specialty running stores seem to have them in stock

Mine was supposed ship from Road Runner Sports on June 19th and last I checked it was pushed back to July 27th.  I am anticipating it being pushed back further...

Just to clarify, does this device measure the distance of a (open water) swim? I see on the website, it says "Time Your Swim", but any waterproof watch can do that. I want to know the distance, which is much harder to measure.

It sort of can, but the GPS tracking is sketchy. I read a few posts on Slowtwitch about folks who tried and the GPS overshot the distance by 30-40% because of all the wacky tracking.

The only thing Garmin supports on the swim is timing.
