Subject: RE: TT bike to Road Bike? LonghornSpencer - 2010-03-26 11:37 AM
I have no idea why other than found a bike that I might want but for some reason have in my head that I need a road handle bar. If will affect the fit that much? In that case sounds like a stupid idea...I was just thinking that it would be something similiar to put clip-ons on a road bike, guess not huh? There are many things that go into how a bike is going to handle and normally a bike that is designed to be riden in a tri/TT configuration is going to have some issues when setup as a road bike. Some of the considerations are rake and trail, seat tube angle, head tube angle, head tube length, top tube length, wheelbase and chainstay lengths. You can add road bars to a TT bike, however it may not handle well and you might not be able to get comfortable using the drops in this configuration. Shane |
