Subject: goals

Please take this as constructive criticism: this is, imho, the most poorly implemented area of this site. I like the idea. I like it when I can get it to work but grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Problem 1.

One of my goals currently says

By 12/31/2011 I will Yoga at least 1.2 hours per week for 52 consecutive weeks.
During the past 41 calendar weeks: Yoga at least 68.97 hours per week.

That just doesn't make sense.

I pointed this out before, I got no reply....whatever, to me it looks stupid and would be easy to fix.

Problem 2.

I HAD a goal set up...."average 77k running a week for the year" it was working fine. Then, I go and add another goal today, average 2 hours a day of tri sports. Now that one shows up. The running one doesn't show up. It just disappeared. I tried to re-add it. It still didn't show up on my dashboard. Then I see that you can view the 'met' goals in settings. The running one is somehow listed as 'met', which doesn't make sense because the year isn't over.

I don't get it.

Problem 3

When you go to view goals, in settings, there is a drop down menu that says view in dashboard or sidebar. You can change that, but there appears to be no way to save it.

First, if you've reported something and go no reply we apologize. We have a serious commitment to and a very good reputation for being responsive. We take it seriously.

Problem 1. The number of hours per week is clearly wrong. We'll get that fixed. Is this what you're referring to as "stupid"?

Problem 2.  This goal has been reset to "In Progress" but it there's probably a bug in the logic used to determine if a goal meets the criteria. We'll look into this, but if it happens again let us know right away. This would help a lot in getting it fixed quickly.

Problem 3.  It's saved automatically. Once you change it, that's the new setting. We're going to be doing this across the site in the redesign, getting rid of as many "Go" and "Submit" buttons as we can.

see here http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... I responded to your reply but never got a response. It seems you thought I wasn't using the feature right, which I don't understand. It wasn't a big deal but I figured since I had this other goal related problem I would revisit the initial one. I certainly didn't feel like it was taken seriously at the time but I didn't feel it was a serious issue. If it fell through the cracks or whatever that's cool.

Re the other stuff, thanks, I will let you know if it happens again.

My.running goal disappeared again. The only thing I did was click on the goal + above the goals. I think I closed browser before it even loaded. It is back to saying met. Is there a way I can change it to in progress.

yeah perfect. I noticed that the yoga goal was fixed earlier in the week and it looks like the running goal is active again too. Awesome, thanks.
