Master  1440   |  Subject: Different Road /Driver rantA friend of mine asked me check out the route for a local Tri. So I am driving along, and I see a deer on my side of the road. I slow down and the deer runs across. Unfortunately on the opposite side of the road the driver didn't slow down, even after they hit the deer. Thats what I said, hit the deer and kept right on going. I pulled over and the deer was still alive. Both the back legs were broken. I called 911 and they connected me with the county. I told them i would wait since the deer was in the ditch and might be hard to see. The sherriffs deputy pulled up about 10 minutes later. I showed him whre the deer was and he asekd if I got the license. I told him it it happened to fast. I left as he was getting the shotgun out. I still can't believe that the other driver didn't even slow down. |

McIlhenny (of Tabasco fame) imported a few from South America for pets and study. Next hurricane destroyed their pen, they escaped and since have bred like crazy. Redneck stopped and asked if he could take the deer. I told him he had to wait for the police to show up, which he did. He asked the cop, showed him the hunting license and that bloody carcass was strapped to the top of his POS 78 Camaro and he was gone. |

Veteran 258 South dakota | Subject: RE: Different Road /Driver rant While I think it is kinda dink of the person not to stop, it is not against the law, I they just have to report it with in 24 hours if damage was over 500(at least in sd and most Midwest states I know of.).
