Master  6595     Rio Rancho, NM |  Subject: Katie Ledecky (spoiler alert)I'm behind in watching the Olympics so I just saw Katie's incredible 800m freestyle finish. She was incredible but to see her finish over 11 seconds in front of the next competitor is just insane! Not to mention beating the world record while she's at it. ETA: Oh and Dirado beating Hosszu in the 200m back. Hosszu (and her husband) didn't know how to handle being handed a second place.

I'm not trying to say Phelps isn't a phenomenal swimmer, b/c of course he is. But comparing a 200m and an 800m isn't really fair at all. I mean, look at the gap between Ledecky and her next competitor when she swam the 200. I do wonder if she'll do any open water events. I know she's been moving down to the shorter distances with (obvious) great success, but it would be great to see her do the 10k! |
