Hi guys.

Nice to see you all.

I'm 17 years old full time student (sorry i am not female''

I was searching on the internet to find amazing triatholne website, and so i am here.

My goal is, one day to be ranked on top 10 in world class competition.

I am about 5'2'' and 169lbs <-- it makes me sad, but i can;t hate my parents.

anyway, hope i get to know you guys quick.

by the way, i got a question, i ride bike for about 70~80min everyday at 65CAD average.

and i go to gym and work out for about 60~90min, three times a week.

I lost 6~7lbs in few weeks, but i am not really losing any more weight.

I eat less than 2000kcal including protein powder.

I am guessing, this is the momment that i have to start running too.

Do you think what i am doing now is just not enough?

give me some advice, thanks.

Welcome to BT!  I've found that logging all of the calories eaten and burned is one of the best things to do when you are trying to lose weight.  I use fitday.com for that. Also pay attention to your portion size so that when you think you are eating one serving, you really are.  Measuring things out for awhile is helpful to make sure your portions aren't too large.  Good luck!!

Hey, welcome. I like the goals and triathlon and a proper diet should get you to where you want to go. Log your meals and workouts like people above have stated. One thing that really worked for me, was going to smaller meals more often. The idea is to keep your metabolism up by keeping the fire burning. You will still eat around 2000 cals, but its spread out, so the body doesn't ever feel starved and start storing fat, etc.

Good books on this nutrition method are Core Essentials by Mark Westeg??? something or other. He has a show on Sportskool if you have comcast, and Jessi Stensland ( triathlete trying for beijing in '08). Body-for-life uses this method of eating as well, but the workouts are geared more for body building....but the nutrition method is similar to Mark's. The cool thing about their methods is you get a "free day" to eat whatever you want.

And yes, go to "tri'ing for weight loss" forum here on BT.

Welcome and look forward to tracking your progress

Welcome.  Awesome goal.  You are dealt the genetics, it is up to you to make the most you can out of them (preaching to myself a little).

I would recommend picking up the cadence to the 90's.  I believe you would build more cardio and burn more fat in the process.

Dude, your screen name makes me hungry!  And I have a question:  any particular reason you are not yet running - is it painful for your joints or anything?  Or just unpleasant?  (Yeah, I remember for years thinking that all those people who claimed to "enjoy" running were lying through their teeth... until I became one of them!)

Okay, other than that, I was going to Ditto some of the advice above, especially:

1.  90rpm is the sweet spot for most people, so take it up there for your "regular" workouts (but you'll want to vary that as you work on strength and speed)

2.   stick around, you'll learn a lot here!

 and Add:

3.  consistency is the key.  weight, body composition (fat/lean), endurance -- these things change gradually over time, with dips and plateaus.  don't give up!

and finally:

 4.  WELCOME TO BT!
