So..... I keep going back and forth on whether or not to do a half this summer. And, if so, which one. Anyone feel like convincing me?

If you do it I will do it and give you the opportunity to kick my a** one more time.  Does that help?

Has anyone done the Door County half?  I think it's the same weekend as Racine.  I'm debating between the two.  Although, Racine sounds like a pretty quality race, and much less of a drive from Madison!

Isn't this the first year they are doing Door County?  I hear sign up is in January and will fill up quickly.  Monty is doing this one I believe.

A question for those that have done this event before, I am trying to decide between Racine and Door County.  Any thoughts on which is better, especially for someone who wants to jump up to the 1/2IM distance?

I haven't done the Door County although I would think it would be fun.  I strongly recommend Racine as it's well run, closer for you in Madison and the bike course is very flat.  Run course has a couple hills and then is very flat.  Only issue is swimming in Lake Mich can be a challenge but you'd essentially be in Lake Michigan up in Door County anyway.  Do Racine and then hit Door the next year before IM 2010.  Done!

Well besides the fact that the course is pothole infested... I never got ANY credit for my first DNF... I at least should have had a swim and T1 recorded somewhere.   A holes

Yes- I am bitter

Hmmm, now I am unsure. I was planning on doing Door County, but it seems like the general consensus is that SOR is a better race. Seems like I've got some serious pondering to do....
