Subject: RE: Tall, Thin, Single (pOrN attached)That bike means a lot to me, it was my first road bike (just BMX before ) and I put it on lay-away and would go down and pay the guy $20 or $30 dollars every pay day. I was 15 years old and working part-time after school and on the weekends.
I rebuilt everything and tried to keep as many of the original parts as I could. Those frames were made in MS back then. The headset and bottom bracket grease and turned to a black sticky wax like substance. The orignal tires were so rotten I pretty much had to tear them off. I kept one though because it says "Made in the U.S.A" on it. It actually rides really good, I had a fun ride on it yesterday.
Everyhing is original except for:
lights
fenders
handlebar tape
cables and housing
hub bearings
pedals
chain
seat and seat post
rim tape, tires and tubes
