Tear in wetsuit....AAAGGGH!!!

Master  1563    Chicago |  Subject: Tear in wetsuit....AAAGGGH!!!So after my incredibly crappy swim last night, I got out of the water to discover a tear in my wetsuit...kind of looks like a flap if you will.... it's my sister's... who's training for IM Louisville.... I am really afraid she might kill me... being that I am in Chicago, I don't know if any of the "surf shops" here would carry a patch kit like the stores in say, Florida and California... I've tried the glue bullsh*t before, and it TOTALLY didn't work...Maggyruth can attest to that! I'm so stressed...shop opens at 10:00 so I will know soon if they have it... Anyone else in the area have any ideas???? I have a race on Sunday!!!

| Subject: RE: Tear in wetsuit....AAAGGGH!!! I bought seal cement (black) from a dive shop last year (I think it was 12 bucks) for a huge 2 inch rip I had in my thigh, and it's still holding perfectly today.

Extreme Veteran 3177 | Subject: RE: Tear in wetsuit....AAAGGGH!!! If the tear is that big you can see if there are shops that do the repairs for you. I know my local tri shop will do it for a reasonable price and since they know exactly what they are doing I just figure when my suit gets a tear I will take it to them...something to consider? |

I believe MOX could fix it for you (the old downtown location of Mission Bay) and/or have aquaseal/something similar. |
