Subject: HRM choices
I think I've spent at least 4 full days researching HRMs and I'm still unable to figure out the cheapest model that I need for the features I want. So here I am hoping someone out there has the answer!

Budget - ~$150, but hoping to be around $100

- I would like it to be water proof.
- I want it to have a lap counter for when I swim in a pool.
- I would like it to fit on my wrist, I am a female with a somewhat small wrist, maybe 2 inches "surface area" for the watch face.
- GPS is not a function I think I need. I spend a lot of time indoors for training, and the 1-2 days I am outdoors I am on the road so I just use MapMyRun to figure out distance.
- Stop watch/Timer would be great. Maybe a beep every so many minutes would be nice.
- I'd like to get info off it for that workout so I can put it into a spreadsheet.
- Not worried about calories burned.

- So far in mind I have the Polar RS100/200/300 etc, Garmin FR60, Polar F11 (laps?), and I think there's a Timex out there. What am I missing?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have had the Suunto T3c for the last few months and so far it is awsome. The best thing about it is that as budget allows you can add pods to it to have more functions... bike pod, foot pod, gps,etc...
It also has all of the functions that you have listed.

Garmin FR60 is about $120. It comes in both men's and women's models. It's just been available a for about a month or two. I recently got one and I wear it as an everyday watch. It has a nice read out screen. It can upload data to the computer. Overall nice HRM!

I think I've narrowed it down to the Polar RS200, Suunto T3, or the Garmin FR60.

Worried about the quality of the suunto based on reviews. And the FR60 appears to be on some sort of back order on Amazon (I have a gift card)

Why can't they just be cheaper so if I buy one that sucks, I don't feel so bad?

get the FR60 from RunningWarehouse.com.  Do a google search, you should be able to find a discount code for 15% off, so it will be $110, with free 2-day shipping.

I've had a Suunto T3 for about 3 years and I've been very happy with the quality of the watch.  I've had chest straps fail several times, but so far Suunto has always replaced them for free.  The last time the watch was out of warranty, but I told them that the strap had only been in use for about 9 months and they sent a new one, no questions asked.

Oh, and I did just have to replace the wristband, but I don't think that's too unusual after 3 years since I wear the watch nearly every day as a regular wristwatch.

I recently picked up a Timex (ironman) HRM from my local running store, less then 150 and has all those things. So far works great, I programed my HR zones and after each workout it tells me how long I spent in a 'zone'. No GPS for me either.

My FR60 showed up in the mail today. I took it for a swim in the pool for some lap swimming. Froze at 5:03:60. And I can't get it to reset...
