What would you do?

I'm doing IM Louisville this weekend and got a new pair of shoes about 2 weeks ago(same size/model(except for the new version)/etc).  Mizuno must have tweaked the new version and the new ones feel AWFUL, like clown shoes.  I returned them on the way out of town.

Should I:
1. Just run in my current shoes that have ~320 miles on them.

2. Buy a new pair of shoes that will be a new brand/shoe from what I'm used to at this point.  I would buy them from a running shop obviously, not straight from a chain off the shelf store.

I have worn Asics in the past, I'd lean towards an Asics shoe I think.

I personally would run on the ones you've used. Even though they have 320 miles on them your feet are used to them and they've formed to your feet. I kind of feel like you're asking for trouble if you buy a new pair of shoes and immediately go run a marathon on them. Just my opinion.

Definitely run in the old ones.

I did an IM in Europe one year and accidentally packed my older pair of shoes (with over 500 miles on them)  Did the race in them and it was fine.

Run in old ones.  (Should have done that myself in my IM, actually.)

I was in the same boat last year and I decided to run in the old shoes.  It worked out fine for me.

Also seems to me like changing running shoes at the 250 or 350 mile mark is like changing your oil every 3000 miles...something the manufacturers came up with to make more $$$ in most cases.

OLD ONES.  I had the same thing to face before a HIM this year and I went with the new ones.  Bad idea.  Even though I ended up have a good run, for me, after mile 3 or 4 the balls of my feet were just destroyed and I almost had to take them off and go barefoot for a while because of the pain.
