Subject: Route Tracker and Garmin 310xt
I had an issue with my 310xt that forced a master reset, now I'm not able to import a route from the device (it says no tracks found).  Prior to the master reset I was able to see several months worth of tracks there.  It uploads workouts just fine.  Something I'm not doing right?

Same problem.  I get "0 routes found" when trying to create a route from my 310XT.  Everything's up to date and current (Garmin plug-in, the 310XT firmware, etc.)

I'm working around it by generating tracks on other websites, then saving them as .gpx, then importing the gpx into BT.  (But probably not a good thing to have us 'BT'ers looking for other sites to get this done!)

Could be related to a Garmin software update, we'll look into it.

Thanks.  Here's as much info as I can contribute I think:

- I go for a run or cycle, and the 310XT is correctly set for Running for Bike 1

- I return, and the Garmin Ant Agent sees it and downloads the run

- I can add the run or cycle in my normal training log via "Import from Garmin", and it finds the event and adds it, and it spends a few seconds uploading data

- going to "Add New Route" brings up the route creation window (http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?set=2&autoclose=true)

- I 'Upload from:' and select "Garmin Device", which pops up the normal plain Garmin communicator box.  It says "Found Forerunner 310XT" without me having to "Find Devices"

- Clicking on "Get Data" immediately returns "0 tracks found.".  It doesn't take any time or read the watch (well, PC data file)

Versions:

Firefox 7.0.1

Garmin ANT Agent: 2.2.17

Garmin Communicator Plugin: 3.0.1.0.

Garmin 310XT watch: S/W Version 3.90, GPS 2.10.  The events from the past week (at least) show up in the watch under "History" all correctly (duration, distance, type, etc.)

I've also just now installed the same plugin in IE9 and verified it works, and get the same "0 routes found".

And, in case this helps:

- attempting to import routes/tracks on the www.gpsies.com website, which uses the same Garmin Communicator Plugin, returns the same sort of error: "0 routes, 0 tracks and 0 waypoints found".

I've also attached the entire contents of my "C:\Users\doug\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices" directory. Oh, whoops, can't - the zip file is 800K.  Have emailed it instead.

Ok, it turns out that this is due to the latest version of Garmin Communicator, v3.0.1. It doesn't play nice with the 310xt and uploading GPX files. This has been confirmed on their site.

There are two options: wait until they come out with a fix for it (they're typically pretty good about this) or downgrade to the previous version of Communicator.  If you'd like to take the latter course, v2.9.3 is available as an attachment to this post.  We only have the Windows version. Be sure to rename the file to have the .exe extension after you download it.

I just got around to wanting to use the 2.9.3 version of the plug-in but the link's not working now.  I found the plugin on some random website but it only installs into IE and not Firefox.  So at least I can upload/create routes now.

I've scoured the Garmin developer website and can't find any mention of this problem so I can't tell if they're making any progress on it.    Could you post a link to a thread or bug report for this issue?
