I can't believe I did this!  I have been dying to get to the bike shop to get my new bike fitted so I took the afternoon off and went.  I told some people I had "an appointment" - didn't mention it was a appt. at the LBS, of course.  I missed two meetings!  It was so worth it though.  My bike fits great, I have new pedals and shoes and the guy at the LBS was fabulous.  He gave me all kinds of tips and information and taught me how to clip in (these are my first clipless pedals).

Has anyone else skipped work for tri-related activities?

I said I had an appt. on Friday.

I had an appt. at the airport to go to Disney.

I had to "run some errands" on Friday (for about three hours) so that I could go drool over bikes and test ride them.  Seems like I run a lot of "errands" these days.

Oh no. Never. Of course not. I'm offended you'd even ask.

Wouldn't every time we log on to BT at our desk count as "skipping work"?

Of course mine's not as it is for "stress reduction" purposes

I guess, but then so would reading a personal e-mail, going to the bathroom or getting a cup of coffee.

But I never surf BT at work, so your point is moot.

Heh.

Yep, I did the same thing when I got my new bike.

As far as mid-day visits to BT I like to refer to it as clearing my head. Laughing

It's unheard of.  (car door slamming in background).
