So I thought this was interesting.  I’m not posting this to promote the drink so I won’t mention its name, I’m just in amazement of it.  I was at the vitamin shop near my house and saw this “energy drink”.  Here’s the specs on it:

18 fluid ounces.

Calories:  400

Fat:  0

Sodium:  100mg

Potassium:  99mg

Total Carb:  100g

    Sugars:    35g

Calcium 2%

Iodine 25%

Chromium 170%

Phosphorus 8%

Magnesium 6%

Seems to me like to ween you off of this drink addiction they give you heroin!  This makes a triple-mocha-latte-whatever from you-know-where look like a warm glass of milk on a wintry night.

I bought one just out of curiosity ($1.39) but I’m afraid to drink it.  Should I have an adrenaline shot nearby just in case? (like in Pulp Fiction).  I know they have the portable paddles at the gym.

I don't get what's so "energetic" about that drink...

I did see this stuff at the gas station the other day. Not sure it would give you energy. Maybe the munchies...

It doesn't say it has any, but it doesn't say caffeine-free either.  I don't know.

looks like it might not be half bad. What are the ingredients? By sugar I'm assuming they mean HFCS, so the other Carbs have to be Dextrose or Maltodextrine (hopefully). Too bad there's no protein in it. What's up with the minerals tho? 25% iodine? What'd they do, add table salt to it? I also wonder what the purpose of the 170% Chromium is. That much can't be good.

Just looks like a bunch of sugar.  KoolAid is cheaper.

Ingredients: maltodextrin, filtered water, dextrose, fructose, natural and artificial flavor, citric acid, potassium phosphate, sodium benzoate, magnesium succinate, chromium chloride.

Like I said, not promoting this as a good thing, just amazed by it.  400 calories seems like a lot for an 18 oz. drink that is not a meal-replacement or muscle building type drink.  It looks like blue mouthwash.

Here's the sales pitch on the bottle:  ...is more than just fluid.  It's optimal performance.  Unlike other sports drinks it is a high energy drink that offers a balanced ratio of simple and complex carbohydrates, that means more energy and recovery for the ultimate in overdrive!

What a crock.
