View Member's Race Log
Lake Winola, Pennsylvania
United States
78F / 26C
Sunny
Total Time = 30m 4s
Overall Rank = 52/65
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 1/2
Pre-race routine:

Race wasn't until 4:30pm, so drank water all day, ate lots of easily-digestible carbs. Last thing eaten was a banana around 3:45.
Event warmup:

Some stretching, but saved my legs for the actual run.
Run
  • 30m 4s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

Considering it was my first race since the fall and I was running it more as a test to see how my knee would fare and what kind of running shape I was truly in, not to mention it being a difficult course AND rather warm out, I think I exceeded my expectation. I did spend a fair amount of the 2nd mile walking, to save my legs and lower my HR a bit. Of course I would've liked to have run faster, but all things considered, a fun race in one of my favorite places in the world and a great re-entry into the running world!
What would you do differently?:

Obviously, have been training longer. Maybe drink even MORE water throughout the day.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, stretched a little, drank water and some gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Having only started running again a few weeks ago.

Event comments:

Great, fun race. Looking forward to running it again next year if I'm still living in the area.

Congratulations!  What a great race, particularly for starting late in the day and the hills.  Looks like you're well on the road to a complete recovery!
