New user 11 | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread Hi everyone!!! Just competed in my first Sprint Tri last Saturday (8/23) and am now training for a 1/2 marathon coming up in November. I'm totally hooked and already planning to compete in at least 3 (hopefully 4) tris next year, and at least 1 Olympic distance tri. This is a great community and I'm so happy to join! |

Master 1641 Seattle, California | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread Hey guys! I'm in for 35 miles. Last weekend was my one year aniversay from completing Ironman Canada and since Ironman I have ran twice, biked once and swam once as well as adding 45 pounds (yes 45!). I've had a lot of fun but it's time to get back into shape. That is why I'm only in for 35 miles. I'm not sure how my joints are going to react to all of this extra weight. Good luck everyone! |

Regular 70 | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread ok, I'm having issues emailing the code for the team box. So, here is the code with the directions. From your control panel, select the goals tab. Then copy and paste the code into either your long term or short term goals, below what you already have in your goals box. <table border="8" bgcolor="000066" width="300" height="200" background="http://www.augsburg.edu/athletics/images/random/football/football03.jpg"><tr><td><b> <font color="white">AUGGIE TEAM<p><a <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=130270&posts=3&start=1"><font color="white">AUGGIE TEAM THREAD</a> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=41878&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">Owl Girl</a><br> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=64606&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">starrlinda</a><br> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=77119&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">JohnDeere</a><br> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=57797&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">sdbryant</a><br> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=18439&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">sparc0</a><br> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=104041&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">Chaddsgirl</a><br> <a href="http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?memberid=19823&year=&month=&day="><font color="white">Global</a><br> </b></td></tr></table> |

Extreme Veteran 483 Pacific NW | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread Hi team! My name is Sarah and I hate running. :-) But I have my first marathon on October 5th, so run, I must. I'm down for 100 miles, but if I stick to my training plan (oh crap, I don't have a training plan!), I should be well over that. JohnDeere for captain! |

Regular 70 | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread sdbryant - 2008-08-28 2:03 PM JohnDeere for captain! I'd be happy to assume the spreadsheet/log checking duties. If it starts to interfer with my fantasy football internet time, I'm resigning. And I'm not a motivational "ra-ra" type. I don't think I can influence anybody to get out and run when I am struggling to knock out my lowly 12 miles a week. We either need a Captain that is a motivator or I can work with a Co-Captain that is like the team motivator and I'll handle the spreadsheet. With that said, I nominate anyone of these 100 mile committed folks as the "lead by example", motivational Co-Captain. How about you sdbryant? Edited by JohnDeere 2008-08-28 2:35 PM |

Extreme Veteran 483 Pacific NW | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread I've got nice "pom-poms", so perhaps I am qualified for rah-rah co-captain duties. ;-) I'll start motivating tonight...just after skipping my run and settling on the couch with some wine and ice cream. |

It's really very easy. All I need is an email after Saturday, that has everyone's running miles for the previous week. It should take you abot 10 minutes. I'll send you a PM with the info. Sounds like sdbryant has the cheerleading experience and equipment :-) |

New user 11 | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread My name is also Sarah! I'm pretty well endowed in the "pom-pom" area myself, but that is where my physical similarity to a cheerleader ends. But, I do love encouraging other people. Global, I'm going to be in Calgary in July of next year and was thinking about signing up for a Tri if I can coordinate the dates. Was it a good race? JohnDeere, I think you will make a great captain. Up with JohnDeere!!! (I have a special affinity, all our farm equipment is of the JD variety, no New Holland or International for us!!!) What an exciting and fun time in your life. And wow, how nice to run because you feel like it, not to keep the 8 scoops of ice cream you ate (okay okay, that I ate) off the heiny. Soooooooo happy for you! And how fun that we ended up on the same challenge team. Big hugs! |

Extreme Veteran 470 Horsham, PA | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread Yea Auggies! It seems as though I am a bit out of the loop....so sorry. I didn't know we had a thread going and a nomination and acceptance of a team captain....thanks, John Deere! I foolishly threw myself into it on the original challenge thread. I was responding to Shawn's statement that we were still missing a captain. So, now that I am in the right place, I will be a great team member. My name is Linda. I am scheduled to run a 1/2 marathon on Sun (Va Beach), 9/21 (Philly Distance Run) and 9/28 (as a relay runner in the Jerseyman HIM). I am also scheduled to run a full marathon 10/12 (Scranton). I am a little concerned about all these runs because I have been in a running funk lately. So, this challenge is exactly the thing I need to get myself back on track. I signed up for 150 miles. have a terrific weekend everyone! |

Regular 70 | Subject: RE: Auggies Team Thread Thanks for the tip, Sparky. Ok, I said I wouldn't get into motivational spills, but everybody on the team needs to post on this thread and "open up to the team". You know, get that team vibe thing going, goals and success stories. So, like when you decide to stay out drinking and sleep in late and can only knock out one mile because you are hungover; you will get that guilty feeling like you are letting your teammates down. Or you get that guilt feeling going after skipping out on running for a few days in a row for whatever reason. Linda, if you really want to be a Captain, I guess we can be Co-Captains or something. I'll let you know who is falling behind and you can politely let them know they are lazy and need to get with the program. |
