Hi guys,

Thought i would get your team thread started for you!

Saxobank are one of my favourite teams from the power of Fabian Cancellara to the madness of Jens Voigt and hard man exploits of Stuart O'Grady (Aussie!) this is a strong team.

Their GC contender is younger Schleck brother Andy who will be aptly supported by his brother Frank.

This really is a fabulous team! Good luck with the challenge!

Cat

Not sure how chatty this bunch is...but I'll go ahead and introduce myself

Name: Jason/J
Age: 28
Location: Oahu, Hawaii
Cycling/Tri exp: about 9 months now (2 sprints, 1 Oly)
Upcoming Race: Dick Evans Memorial Road Race (modified from the 115 mile perimeter race around Oahu that was the basis for the bike leg in the original Ironman)
TdF goals: 17 stages, 700 miles
TdF favorite rider:  I'll admit that I know very little about pro cycling other than last year's TdF and this summer's races (California, and Switzerland).  So obviously that means I'm cheering for Lance Armstrong and I hate Contador.  But as I learn more about other riders, I'm sure I'll find a more meaningful favorite.

Not very, I'm guessing. Especially since you and Cat did most of the 7 8 posts on the thread.

I'll chat. This is my first challenge so I'm not sure how this all works.

I just updated out spreadsheet (also my first experience with Google Docs).

Name: Steve
Age: 44
Location: Maryland
Cycling/Tri exp: this is my 4th year racing. I'm a MOP Age Grouper
Upcoming Race: Just finished my first HIM, Eagleman 70.3. Finished is about all I can say about that day. I have a couple of sprints coming up and some trail races. Just started mountain biking which is a lot of fun. That's why I put my goal in minutes. 10 miles on the MTB are much different than 10 on the road.
TdF goals: 10 stages, 750 minutes
TdF favorite rider:  I love the race. Don't really have a favorite rider. I like the Americans (Levi, GH, Vande Velde). I run hot and cold on Lance. I think he is amazing athlete but deep down I also think he's cheated quite a bit.

Good luck everyone. Seems like the real SB team is doing well.

Sorry, I have been busy but I will definitely chat with you guys.  My name is Scott, I just moved to D.C. a little while ago.  I am 23 years old and have been doing triathlons for 3 or 4 years off and on.  Last year, I did a HIM and was going to try and do more this summer, but I had to move so life got in the way.  I am doing an Oly in September that I am really excited about, and am really strongly considering doing a full IM next summer.  I love the Tour, and think that team Saxxo Bank is an excellent team, I really like all of their riders.  Since I am on this team, I am going to be pulling for Andy Schleck.  Jens Voigt is an awesome rider as well.  I am going for 15 rides (going to try and not count my commutes) for 900 minutes.

Nice to meet everyone!  CJ, where in Maryland do you live?  I am in D.C., close to Chevy Chase, MD, we should get together and ride a stage together.  I have gotten in 4 stages and almost 400 minutes thus far.  Got so pumped watching the Tour yesterday that I rode 1.5 mph faster than I normally do yesterday!  Team SaxoBank is doing great in France and on BT, we have the yellow baby!

Congrats on the weight loss.  I lost about 35 pounds from Feb 09 to Oct 09.  Since then, I have felt awesome physically.  Not just during workouts...but just more energy during the day.

Keep it up.

Thanks Jason i have a long way to go. I'd ultimately like to be somewhere around 200 or 220 (high school football weight). I feel great and love to ride my bike and swim, running.... well 290 doesn't move very fast for very long.

I'm *not* on this team, but I'm cheering for Saxobank, too. Really strong team.

P.S. Even though I'm not on this team, well, I tend to pop into various threads every now and then. LOL
