Actually I'm doing IMWI so I will be using a combination of Don Fink's IronFit training programs for that. I wanted to do at least one HIM before the IM and Syracuse is close enough to be able to drive to for me. It also seems like it is a challenging course which is perfect in preparing for Wisconsin. |

That is pretty funny and I though I was crazy trying to do both next year and you are doing MCM right before NYC as well. That is crazy! Well I hope I get to see you at all the events. We'll see how NYC goes and what they do. I did not plan to do that for 2013 I was supposed to do it this year but am not passing up the opportunity to run it next year. |

Veteran 378 The Cold North | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Syracuse : Official Thread I'm in. This will be my 2nd 70.3 (although I've done 3 half-distance swim/bike events) and is my lead-up race before IM Lake Placid. Training has already started and is going well. I am doing my own thing right now but have a coach lined up to start Jan 1. |

Extreme Veteran 1986 Cypress, TX | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Syracuse : Official Thread papkmd56 - 2012-12-19 1:15 PM Does the Syracuse 70.3 sell out? If so when? No, in fact just the opposite. There was a good turnout in 2010 (first year) with registrations in the 1800-1900 range. There was about half that in 2011 and slightly better this past year but that was due to a $199 price and 100 qualifying slots for the 70.3 world champs. It's a great and challenging race but I'm not sure it will be renewed once the five year contract is up due to "soft" registration numbers. |

Curious as to when everyone will start officially training and what plan you'll be following. Oh - I am doing base training now and will start official training 12 weeks out using "The 12 Week Triathlete" by Tom Holland. I am totally in it for fun without injury and meet folks that are crazy enough to commit to this crazy sport! What training plans will everyone else following and when will they officially start? |

Curious as to when everyone will start officially training and what plan you'll be following. I start the 20 week plan from this site on Feb. 4th. Now just trying to get in to some sort of routine. I've been off my bike the end of 2012 due to some piriformis issues. I think I may kick off the new year with a new saddle (she says after first ride in a very long time!!!). |

Member 29 Georgetown, MA | Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Syracuse : Official Thread Pretty excited for this one, 1st triathlon, 1st 70.3. Just finished a 4 year collegiate rowing career, so I'm used to a lot of training, but not exactly triathlon specific.
I'm using the 20 week plan from this site as my guide so I should be starting the first week of February. I'm itching to get into it but it's going to be "trial by fire" as this is all pretty new to me. |

I'm still rolling on the trainer as the weather isn't quite there yet. We are less than three months out though, so the time is counting down regardless. What are people doing for warm up races? |

I plan on racing Newfound Lake olympic tri in NH on June 1 as a "tuneup" race. The timing works out well as it falls in the middle of my build for Syracuse. |

I raced Mooseman last year and really enjoyed it (minus the rain). The lake and the wooded area where transition is set up is really great though. Good luck and if you watch any "must sees" let me know! |
