|  Subject: Start With One Event First?I'm an old bodybuilder who took a three year "layoff" and now I'm switching sports to Triathlons.   
I never competed on the bodybuilding stage, but I can actually see myself entering a tri  (in a year or longer ).  
  
Someone at my gym suggested I start with a 5k run or a bike or some other single event first. I'm thinking he might be right. But then, I'm alos thinking that since I'm pretty new, I might as well train in all the areas and get stronger in all three disciplines. I'm doing over an hour of cardio  (all indoors in frigid weather ). I can do a slow two miles running and average 33 miles  (on the bike trainer readout ). Swimming is VERY weak and will take the most work. I just took swimming lessons last year.
