Subject: First tri coming up...enter clydesdale or novice? I am totally stoked about my first tri! I got my bike about a week ago and have been trying to get my swim technique down...I am a trail runner by nature. I am getting ready to sign up for my first event - the Parris Island Sprint in March. It is asking me for a division. I am a big fella, so I know I will be in the clydesdale if I want ( I am 235lbs. ). There is also a novice division for beginners (also me ). There are no points accumulation in the novice, but I am not sure if that is a big deal or not. I do have an idea of what my times mos likely will be:
500M Swim - 10 min (or so )
13 Mile Bike - 40 Min (about 18mph )
5K Run - 24 Min ( I am anticipating having pretty fatigued legs at this point )
Would I be better off in the Clydesdale or novice division?
Thanks in advance
Brian
