June MOVE-IT OR LOSE-IT Challenge

(In other words, if you don't move it, your team will lose it. )

For this challenge, you get to pick up to FOUR activities!
You can BIKE and/or SWIM and/or RUN and/or DO SOMETHING ELSE (strength train, dance, hike, whatever you want).

YOU define the activities. (Does 'swimming' include kick drills? Does 'running' include elliptical work?) YOU decide, and set your goals accordingly.

You will need to enter the following information:

If you can't access the spreadsheet, look at the bottom right corner. If it says, "edit this page," click that link and enter the info above.... Or you can just reply to this message and state:
1) Your goal(s). (BIKE and/or SWIM and/or RUN and/or OTHER).
2) The number of hours / distance / sessions for each goal.
3) Are you are willing to be a Team Captain? Also, if you have any teammate requests, list them here.


This will be a Team Challenge. Teams will be assigned randomly. However, teammate requests will be honored whenever possible.
Edited to add: Team Rosters are shown at the bottom of this post!


At the end of the month:
The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more!
This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.


Team spreadsheets will be put on Google Spreadsheets. Each team member will update his/her own info. However.....

Each team will select a team captain. The team captain will be responsible for making sure that each team member updates the spreadsheet by the reporting dates, and/or will enter information for people who are unable to update the spreadsheet directly.


The Challenge will begin on June 1st, and end on June 30th.

In the event of injury/illness, you may request to be dropped from the challenge, without penalty.

If you achieve 100% of your goal before the month is over, you may request to raise your goal.


At the end of the month, the winning team will be the team with the highest completion rate.

All training must be logged in your BT Training Log, by SATURDAY night, your time. If it’s not logged and reported, it didn’t happen!


For reporting, the weeks will run as follows:
June 1 - 7
June 8 - 14
June 15 - 21
June 22 - 28
June 29 - 30
Please note: The week will end on Saturday. This will allow me to compile the results on Sunday.


Smack talking:
-- Smack talking is not mandatory, but may be done.
-- Smack talk is different from a personal attack. If you aren’t sure what the difference is, err on the side of caution and do not post the comment. (Keep in mind that real people are reading your comments!)
-- Smack talking is not to be taken personally. If you get upset about a post, ignore it and move on.
-- If you find a post offensive, and cannot simply ignore it: Walk away from the computer until you feel better, OR better yet, go for a good workout. A hard workout does wonders for your perspective.


The ultimate goal of this Challenge is to push yourself in an activity (or activities), to work out, to meet fellow BTers (virtually or otherwise), and to have some fun!

Hopefully, this Challenge will give you a little extra incentive and motivation to succeed at your goals – whatever they may be.

I'm in too -- just posted my goals: 6 hours (or 360 minutes) of run and swim each; 7 hours (420 minutes) of bike; and 8 sessions of core work.   Looking forward to it!

LOL, not a secret at all. i posted them on the sign up thing, but i am aiming for 50 miles on the bike 50 miles running, and 500 minutes swimming. (hopefully the lake will be warmer then)
and the request was to be with GPOL (my sistah) and scotinseattle, if she signs up. but now that i wrote all THAT, i'm thinking of all the other people on bt that i LOVE and want to be on a team with, but if i wrote them all down, i'd be pretty much doing all the team assignments!! LOL

Hi! I just signed up for 10 hours swim, 22 hours bike, 10 hours run and 12 yoga sessions. I entered it in minutes this time cus I'm not very good at figuring out what 56 minutes translates to in decimals and it seems I'm rarely exactly to the hour. Thanks for the challenge Dee!! I'm hooked!!!!

Signed up this morning...I have resolved to keep doing challenges until I win one.  Of course, when the West May Challenge team wins, I dropping out of this one....just kidding.

Any team is fine....gives me a chance to meet new people...well, maybe not with GPOL, her team requirement is that you have to crash on your bike.
