Subject: RE: plantar fascitisHi...I suffer from severe PF, too. I had a cortisone injection 2 weeks ago...seems to be helping somewhat...even though I know it's only temporary. I have a follow-up visit on Monday to discuss custom orthotics. Right now...I'm willing to try ANYTHING in order to run pain-free...so I'll give the orthotics a shot.
I'm familiar with Tramadol...was on it for over 6 months for low back pain. I've never heard it being prescribed for PF pain, though. Word of caution on Tramadol...it's a synthetic opiate, so even though it's not classified as a true opiate (Vicodin or Oxycontin ) it has opiate-like properties, therefore it can be quite addictive (even though doctors claim that it isn't ) and have nasty withdrawal symptoms when weaning off. Don't let yourself become too dependent on it. It took me a good long week to get past the withdrawals...and it was NOT fun. |
