I drove the course last night and it seems pretty flat.   There are a few little hils, but nothing to think about, IMHO.  I wanted to ride it today, but the wife needed the truck and I had no way to get my bike down there.  There is one spot with a big church and all the good people willbe racing out of the parking lot, maybe.  I will be watching around there.  The roads did not seem to bad, a little crappy going over the X-way, but nothing out of the norm.

Those duing the TRI instead of the Du, the run from Deer lake to the bike is going to suck.  However the run after the bke looks cool.  I was there about 7 last night and the water was real choppy looking Ther un path is paved, with grass on both sides.  I am excited about this as I have no clue if my knee will hold out or not., so I am thinking grass is better then pavement.  Limping across the finish line is still finishing Right Cool

There does not appear to be much parking.  For you all coming from down south I would get there early.  My ara manager actually lives on the back loop of the run, nera the park, so I may sleep a little later and park at his house.

Oh and my 7 year old said the playground is OK and we come back.  Are we going to sya hi to each other, I missed the intros at Hawk Island.  I was too geeked about my first race to be social, my bad.

If it helps - this was by far my fastest bike split in a tri ever (out of about 8) which includes Motor City. I would call it flat and fast. Still debating if I am going to do this one.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do it. I just hired a new coach who wants me to run a 5K TT that day, with a short warm up and an easy 30 minute bike ride. I'm wondering if I can force myself to ride very easy on the bike, then run easy for one mile, then run really hard for the last three...

Agreed with the Puppetmaster.  There will be police on hand at the corner by the church, but there are still people that fly through.  As for the run to T1, the first year I tucked shoes outside the fence of the beach, but the second year I just ran barefoot in the grass, which is what I'll do this year.  For those getting there later, there is plenty of parking across the other side of Main street, you should have no problems.

That was fun, my knee held up right up to the last 1.5 miles or so, I was reduced to walking.  It feaking swollen now, but I had a great time.  The heart and lungs and the rest of the legs worked great (for me) but that little section of knee.

BU hey I won a gift basket at the raffle,  Just what I needed, soaps and oils and bath stuff.  Some herbs and a  Carly Simon CD must be for my softer side Kiss.

This was my first tri, and I absolutely loved it. I think I'm hooked, I'll be doing the Grand Prarie Olympic one at the end of the month in Kzoo.

On a side note, I saw a few people out there with some nice cameras snapping pictures and wondered if anybody knew if anyone has posted pictures anywhere that I could look for myself. I had no spectators and would like to prove to people I actually did this

Thanks, and hopefully I'll see people out there sometime.

P.S. Anybody want to teach me to swim!? For being the son of a swim coach, I certainly didn't show it.
