I probably should have switched a long time ago.  I have been wearing regular tie running shoes.  I need some running shoes where you just pull the string instead of tieing.

I am looking for recommendations.  I am looking for something inexpensive.

 Thanks for any help!

two that I know of are speed laces and yankz

i am currently using speed laces and they are awesome and quick in a race. I just don't wear the shoes while I sit or am idle, they tend to cut off the circulation in my feet. However, when walking or running I don't feel the cut off one bit.

Get Yankz or speedlaces. You take the regular laces off your sneakers and replace them. There are a scant few shoes out there that already have quicklaces built in, but if they don't work for you as a shoe, then there's no point. Speedlaces/yankz are like $8. Better than buying a pair of $100 Zoots and finding out that you don't like them.

I've used Yanks for four years and they're OK, but for me they were hard to adjust, always too loose or too tight in spots because the tension wasn't equalized. Adequate for short races but i wouldn't use them for training or any runs over 10K.

Recently switched to Speedlaces, which apparently have solved those problems.

I used Speedlaces for my last 5K and my 1st Triathlon and really liked them. I bought a pair of Yankz from a vendor at the triathlon and can't wait to give them a try. I guess I can write a review/comparison at some point.

Another vote for Speedlaces.  I used regular laces for years, and just recently switched.  My foot is much more comfortable, with the added benefit of making it easier to get the shoes on/off.

I've used Yankz for years. It takes a couple runs to get the laces and tension adjusted, then I never touch them again. Once properly adjusted the shoe becomes a slipon. It seems that people don't understand this concept and want to constantly screw around with the laces. Set it and forget it!

As a very cheap option, you can go to Walmart or a fabric store and buy a roll of elastic and some cord clips (the things you push a button to slide along and tighten a cord).

I have found that this actully lighter, more durable and much cheaper than the name brand stuff.

Have Yankz, curious about Speed Laces. There is the "ibungee" which stretch and "race-runner" which do not stretch. Any thoughts?

I picked a pair up of quick laces at the wal mart by the shoe section. Dunno which brand but I love them. They were only five bucks too.

I'm another Yankz user. Like mentioned above, it takes a run or two to get the tension right when moving them to a new pair of shoes, but after that it's all good.

I use mine exclusively. Every run I do, including marathon training and the marathon itself, are with them. For tri's you can't beat the ease of getting them on. It's like putting on a pair of slippers. Even for general running they're great because the tension is consistent. I don't have to stop 1/4 mile into a run because I tied one shoe tighter than the other or because they're both too loose.

I also think they're much more comfortable because of the elasticity. They're constantly expanding and contracting keeping the shoe secure without ever feeling too tight or too loose.

I used some cheapies off of Ebay but have now switched to Lock Laces http://www.locklaces.com/   I like the thicker elastic on these.

I've use both Yankz and Speedlaces, and they both work for me at all distances. I keep them on my shoes all the time.  It sure would be a pain to swap them out!  If you want them to have different tensions at different points (I do), you can achieve that with some fancy lacing or tying (or both).  Experiment.  There's no need for them to be so tight that they cut off circulation.  They're certainly not 'by nature' tighter than regular laces - you can make them as loose or as tight as you wish.

I use the bungees and love them.  They never need adjusting, have consistent tension and are easy on.  I use  them for both training and races.

I'm thinking the stretch is probably good for accomodating foot swell that occurs during workouts.
