Total Time = 2h 27m 24s
Overall Rank = 124/632
Age Group = M3539
Age Group Rank = 22/54
Pre-race routine:

Got setup, used the facilities a couple of times and met up with some of the BTers. Forgot to take a prerace gel.
Event warmup:

Swam for a couple of minutes.
Swim
  • 25m 32s
  • 1408 yards
  • 01m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

Took first hit in the jaw with a heel but remained calm and had a realy good swim for me.
What would you do differently?:

probably should start a little closer to the front of the wave. Wasted some time sorting through the first hundred meters.
Transition 1
  • 03m 27s
Comments:

Couldn't get my wetsuit off, again. Wasted too much time with sock issues.
What would you do differently?:

Use this offseason to practice without socks.
Bike
  • 1h 12m 23s
  • 24.9 miles
  • 20.64 mile/hr
Comments:

Staying in aero and on the big chainring for most of the race really startd to bother my left hip.
What would you do differently?:

Get properly fitted to the bike. Wasn't an issue on the hilly courses in NH and VT in my fist two races.
Transition 2
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

No issues
Run
  • 44m 31s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 07m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt good right away, hip issues on bike did not carryover. Was given a Heed by accident instead of water at mile 2, didn't sit well. Fought off some mild cramping around mile 3.
What would you do differently?:

Drink a little more on the bike and bring a gel for the run.
Post race
Warm down:

walk and stretch

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More practice riding on flatter terrain for more top end speed.

Event comments:

The volunteers were fantastic! Very well organized and plenty of people and police to direct traffic. Nice T-shirt.

Congrats on a super race and your first Oly Dang you run fast...

It was great to meet you this weekend!

Hope you figure out what is up with your hip on the bike..maybe it is from a more flat course where you could stay in aero more?

Nice work out there, and great run split considering your hip problems. I would also wager that it is an improper fitting for riding aero. Your hips might be too stretched out or compressed? Looks like a scenic race.

How to crank Chris.  Yeah, get that bike fit, hammer some flats, and you'll be breaking an hour on this course!  Great to meet you.  Maybe we can get some hilly NH rides in this fall.
