Wondering if people take any joint supplements?  Stopped marathon training due to some knee issues and now starting Tri's and trying to save my body some.

And what kind if so?

Thanks

Jamie

I have been taking the osteobiflex glucosamine and chondroitin advanced triple strength (as recommended by my orthopedist) since April when diagnosed with runner's knee.  There are those on BT that will say you might as well take a placebo because it is just as effective and cheaper but I do think it is helping me, heck it isn't hurting me.

Hope it helps your knees.

Back in the day, I would supplement joints with beer. Tended to increase the overall experience.

My knees kicked this summer.  The dog would also limp a little here and there.  She would take 1 and I would take three.  She got over her limp quickly.  I took a little longer.  My knees are starting to calm down and feel good.   I just buy some generic type.   Most docs will tell you to try for a month if it helps go for it if not save your money.

so far working great.

http://www.thenaturalhealingplace.com/chondroflx.html

I have been using this brand for years.  My husband started using it for his back and has been  pain free since then.  Some might say rubbish, but it is good prevention IMO.

I take a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement and also fish oil (with omega 3s and 6s) for my joints. But I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have already had to have surgery to remove an arthritic bone, which I'd like to avoid doing again at any cost. So I am going to keep taking mine no matter what. I get all of mine from The Life Extension Organization.

I've been on Cosamin DS for about 4 years now, and I'm confident it's helping because last summer I had to stop taking all OTC medications for a couple weeks before an unrelated surgery.  During that time, my knees became distinctly more painful and achy.  I suffer from arthritis and chondromalacia patella in both knees.  So, my knee problems are cartilage-related.  Check with your doctor to see if he/she thinks a joint supplement will help.  They are expensive and probably a waste of money if you have knee problem unrelated to cartilage.
