Lance Armstrong - perhaps you remember him: won the road racing world championships, beat cancer, dated Sheryl Crow, one of the Olsen twins, Kate Hudson and.and.what was the other thing..um. Gosh it's hard to remember - oh yeah, he won 7 consecutive Tours de France. Well that guy just got second to Dave Wiens at the Leadville 100 (very long, very hard mountain bike race) a couple of weeks back and now VeloNews is reporting that Lance will race five road races with team Astana in 2009. Lance would be familiar with Astana's bike (they ride on Trek), Astana's management (Johan Bruyneel & Dirk Demol former head's of Lance's teams), and many of the teams riders. The five races of which VeloNews is saying he'll ride: Tour of California, Paris-Niece, Tour of Georgia, Dauphine-Libere and the Tour de France. " |

Elite 2527 Armpit of Ontario | Subject: RE: Lance Gossip That's what I read on the interwebs; he dropped the gauntlet and was talking smack with Macca and will race Kona as an AGer on a fixie. I also heard he's thinking of signing with the new Team Cervelo, but demanded to ride a re-badged Trek.
