Subject: My newest bike....

I picked up my new cyclocross bike last week a custom Gunnar Crosshairs.

It is steel, built up with mostly 105 parts with ultegra derailuer. I hope to enjoy racing cross in the Fall, use this for my bad weather and winter bike with fenders added. This is my first custom bike and I sure like being able to pick out the color..it is more sparkly in person.

Doing my first cyclocross race tonight...practice race. Want to know what cyclocross is check here ...steeple chase for people on bikes.

It looks awesome built up, Kathy! A bright color is good...for finding it once it gets covered in mud.

Have a great race! Can't wait to read about it!

I do..I have my eye on two more..sick isn't it? I was talking to my bike guy the week before I picked this one up about the one I plan to get next..a mountain bike so I can do Xterras.

I am down to getting only one new a year..Orbea was 11/07..so I guess that makes 10 months.

Lovely! I hope you have fender mounts and that'll make a real nice commuter / winter / slushy road bike.

What wheels are those? I don't recognize them as stocks?

My first cross race....oh so very different than riding on the road..but yep feels like a kid..mud, puddles, barriers, logs, sand, dirt and soon snow... and what a tough workout.

Lots of testorene around with only a few women. But it is wicked fun and different and a nice break from standard road riding. I didn't fall once but a guy in front of me took a nasty tumble and they think he popped his leg out of his hip socket...ouch!!

I can't wait until tomorrow when I get to play some more.

Yes already my bike is quite dirty.

Good try..my son seems to think along those lines...more for him and less for me.

That's cool, we have a cross series at a couple parks a few minutes' drive away.   The series starts pre IMAZ so maybe I'll just watch

Be careful, cyclocross is cycling crack. First hit and next thing you know, you're selling yourself in the race venue parking lot to get entry fee money for the next hit.
